Meet the Team: Carles Forès, Frontend Engineer at inari

In this Meet The Team edition, Carles Forès shares what he enjoys most about working at Inari, his advice for aspiring developers, and how restoring retro video game consoles and exploring fantasy worlds fuel his creativity outside of work.

Let’s meet him!

1 – Can you tell me a bit about your background and how you came to work at inari? 

I’ve worked in different companies in the IT sector, mainly in consulting firms. This gave me the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and frameworks, from Salesforce and Angular, to Phaser and Vue. From the beginning, developing applications with JavaScript has been what I’ve enjoyed the most, thanks to its versatility. 
Along the way, a former coworker introduced me to inari, and I’m grateful for the chance to keep learning and collaborating with great professionals who constantly show me that there is always more to explore and discover. 
 

2 – Tell me about your day-to-day role at inari and what areas of your job at inari you most enjoy? 

I work in the Frontend department, where our job is to implement software that meets our clients’ needs. One of the things I enjoy most is the horizontal communication we have with all departments. It allows us to have open and constructive discussions and always strive for the best possible solution. 

3 – What attracted you to the technology/insurtech sector? 

Since I was little, I’ve always been fascinated by computers. I’ll never forget the time I accidentally broke the family PC while trying to change the operating system (and, of course, my parents’ reaction). Over time, I discovered other areas of computing that complemented my love of drawing. 
Now that I’ve been in the industry for years, one of the things I enjoy most is continuously learning about different fields and gaining a deeper understanding of how the world works. 

4 – What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career in your field? 

Focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing details, practice will turn that knowledge into second nature. 

When you run into challenges, use them as learning opportunities: explore, read documentation, and try different approaches. Even if you don’t solve it right away, the effort will make the answers you get more meaningful. 

And finally, remember to keep things in perspective: tech is full of trends and noise, but what really matters is staying curious, consistent, and open to growth. 

5 – What do you like to do in your free time outside of work? 

In my free time, I like to go for walks, exercise, and meet up with friends (though I admit my social battery is limited). Above all, I love drawing, restoring, or modifying retro video game consoles. I also enjoy immersing myself in fantasy worlds, whether through comics, series, books, or video games. 

6 – What’s one surprising fact about you that most people at inari wouldn’t know? 

At one point, I almost took a completely different path and considered studying Fine Arts. Other than that, I’d say I’m a pretty simple person, no big surprises!
