What We Learned at Insurtech Insights USA 2025: AI, Partnerships & Product Depth

Last week, part of our team joined Insurtech Insights USA 2025 in New York, one of the industry’s largest and most dynamic gatherings. From AI trends to the evolving expectations of MGAs and carriers, the event gave us a clear snapshot of where insurance tech is heading.
Here’s a look at our top takeaways.
Beyond the Hype: AI Needs Structure
Unsurprisingly, AI was everywhere. Most panels, demos, and vendor booths had some AI-driven narrative, whether in underwriting, document reading, or CAT prediction.
But what stood out wasn’t just the prevalence of AI, but the need for strong data foundations behind it.
As Karina Alvarez, inari’s Product Manager, put it:
“You can’t apply AI if you don’t have a strong data structure and features to manage your underlying business (policies, CAT predictions, programmes).”
Several team members echoed this: that without solid handling of core processes like endorsements, commissions, and binding authorities, even the smartest AI won’t deliver sustainable value.
Pablo Ayuso, Sales Associate, added a critical reflection:
“Ai should be a tool to reach a goal, not the goal itself. As a provider, we need to make sure we don’t lose focus.”
Partnerships & Modularity Are Gaining Ground
While AI stole the spotlight, another theme was quietly taking root: strategic partnerships. Rather than trying to build everything in-house or find a single end-to-end solution, more players are embracing modularity, assembling ecosystems of best-in-class tools.
This shift reinforces what we’ve always believed: insurers and MGAs shouldn’t have to choose between flexibility and depth. When systems integrate well and each part is built to solve a real operational problem, the results are powerful.
What Made inari Stand Out
For many attendees, our platform demos were a highlight. People were genuinely impressed by the depth and clarity of Kitsune’s interface, especially when it came to handling complex, often-overlooked policy admin features.
As Amanda Strazdins, VP of Sales, shared:
“The feedback from our on-site demos really reinforced that we have one of the most impressive and comprehensive platforms in the market.”
We also showed up with a balanced team across sales and product, which meant we could tailor conversations, go deep on features, and quickly demo the real thing, not just a slide deck.
Why Events Like This Matter
Industry events like ITI are more than a chance to showcase products; they are a pulse check. For us, it was a moment to validate where we stand in the market, exchange ideas with peers, and absorb new thinking around everything from agentic AI to claims automation.
Jonathan Pflieger, SVP of Insurance Product, said it best:
“It’s energizing. You get direct feedback from the market and clarity on where the real needs are.”
Amanda added that hearing from real users, especially early-stage MGAs, reminded her of the deeper impact of our work:
“When they tell us Kitsune is the best platform they’ve seen, you realize we’re building something truly valuable.”
Final Thought
AI is undoubtedly here to stay. But the real opportunity lies in combining emerging technologies with operational excellence. Our mission remains the same: to give insurers and MGAs the tools they need to not just keep up but lead the change.
